Academic Professional Development
Faculty and Academic Staff Affairs, in collaboration with the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation and other university partners, supports all faculty, academic staff, and academic administrators at Michigan State University. Our goal is to help academic colleagues build meaningful and productive professional and personal lives that align with—and contribute to—the missions of Michigan State University.
Academic Professional Development offerings address key career junctures, from onboarding and promotion milestones to late-career and retirement planning.
We provide resources and programming as colleagues:
- Join the university – e.g., [New Faculty and Academic Staff Orientation]
- Establish professional trajectories – e.g., [Academic Lunch and Learn sessions]
- Navigate career stages – e.g., [the upcoming Thriving Series on promotion, review, and career transitions],
