Nelson Sepúlveda Alancastro

Nelson Sepúlveda Alancastro Nelson obtained his undergraduate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus in 2001 with honors. He completed his M.S. (2002) and PhD (2005) degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Michigan State University. During his last year as a PhD student, he was a MESA Research Fellow at Sandia National Laboratories. He was faculty at the University of Puerto Rico from Jan 2006 until June 2011, when he moved back to E. Lansing as an Assistant Professor in ECE. Nelson is a recipient of the NSF Career Award and of the MSU Teacher Scholar Award. He is currently the Interim Chairperson at the ECE Department at MSU. His research interests are micro and nanometer-sized sensors and actuators (or transducers), characterization of smart and multifunctional materials and their integration in microsystems.
