Leadership Institute: Promoting Institutional Equity: The Role of Individual Responsibility and Organizational Accountability
Each year, the
Leadership Institute series offers academic administrators the opportunity to interact with their peers around key topics. This series of 90-minute sessions are designed to expand upon themes introduced at New Administrator Orientation. These sessions are required for department chairpersons, school directors, and associate deans of non-departmentally organized colleges within the first two years of their appointments; all other administrators are encouraged to attend sessions they would find useful.

As leaders, it is important to understand the needs of those you serve and how decisions impact them in different ways. In this session, principles of equitable, ethical, and inclusive leadership will be discussed, along with ways to mitigate bias in support of objective decision-making and improved outcomes. A panel of campus leaders will also discuss how they work to put these ideas into practice.
